Weld Pins
A weld pin is a valuable fastener device with a slender, thin shaft that welds the pin to a metal surface. Weld pins can be used with any standard-resistant welding equipment and are designed to provide complete sheet-to-pin fusion. In addition, weld pins can be used with multi-head, automatic-feed, single-head, dual-head, and portable systems for a wide variety of applications.
Spot Weld Pins
Spot weld pins are well-suited for use as a bearing surface or a hinge pin. If you are looking to spot weld within a confined space or narrow channel, then a right-angle weld pin is what your project may require. In addition, if your project application is the edge of a metal sheet, a flat spade weld pin is the ideal tool for the job. However, right-angle spade weld pins feature a round head, making them an ideal choice for mating to a keyhole-shaped slot.
Projection Weld Pins
The unique design of the projection weld pin allows the three precise weld projections located on the head to attach to the underside of the opposing panel without needing a through hole. Since the three projections of the correct angle weld pin are equal in height and diameter, it allows for a properly balanced and positioned weld.
Weld Pin Advantages
There are abundant benefits associated with using spot weld pins and projection weld pins for your secure construction and welding needs. Some of the more prevalent features and benefits of weld pins include:
Excellent strength
Conical point reduces weld time
Superior design helps reduce misfires
A cupped head reduces jams & reduces the time
Unique design prevents tears
Highly consistent weldability
Weld Pin Applications
Weld pins are used in a wide range of industries. Some of the more prevalent uses of weld pins include:
Ductwork
Shipbuilding
Tool design
Construction
Food service equipment
Bridges

Join threaded studs and pins to steel and stainless steel with resistance welding that won't damage the opposite side of the material. Pins are for installing insulation and acoustical lining. Join threaded studs and pins to steel and stainless steel with resistance welding that won't damage the opposite side of the material. Collets must be the same size as the stud or pin you are welding and are not interchangeable with studs from other systems. Threaded studs are for thin-gauge base materials. 18-8 stainless steel studs are more corrosion-resistant than copper-coated steel studs. Pins are for installing insulation and acoustical lining.
Weld pin insulation fasteners are insulation pins applied with welding equipment. They are commonly used in conjunction with washers. Once the pin is welded in place, insulation is impaled over it and held in place with an insulation washer. Weld pins are available in various sizes and gauges in aluminum, bimetallic, low-carbon steel, mild steel, and stainless steel. Browse our selection below.
