Titanium Grade 7 (Ti-0.15Pd) / UNS R52400 / 3.7235

Grade 7 is the most corrosion-resistant titanium alloy in chemical processes and production equipment components. Similar to Grade 2, but with 0.12 to 0.25% palladium, Grade 7 has enhanced corrosion resistance to reducing acids and localized attack in hot halides. Titanium Grade 23 (TI 6AL-4V ELI) / UNSR56401 / 3.7165

Titanium grade 23 or TI 6AL-4V ELI is an Extra-Low Interstitial grade. This grade is similar to Grade 5, but because of the low interstitials, its mechanical properties are enhanced. This ELI grade is often found in more demanding medical devices and industrial applications.

High Strength Titanium Grade 5 Compared to Monel K500

Q: How does Monel K500 Compare to Titanium Grade 5?

A: Both monel and titanium offer excellent resistance to saltwater conditions. Titanium will perform slightly better than money in stagnant seawater, but this is minuscule.

The main differences are strength and applications. In terms of strength, Monel K500 bolts offer about 160ksi of tensile strength compared to grade 5 titanium bolts' 148ksi—slightly higher. Monel K500 bolts are also more commonly used by the military for saltwater conditions and can be quoted per MIL Spec.

In comparison, titanium grade 5 per spec TI 6AL-4V can be used in medical applications for inertness, biocompatibility, and strength.

Product Specification

Various specifications can be manufactured according to customer requirements.High strength, high thermal strength, good corrosion resistance, high chemical activity, and small thermal conductivity. Titanium alloy has high strength and low density, good mechanical properties, good toughness, and corrosion resistance. In addition, the process performance of titanium alloy is poor, and it is difficult to cut and process. During thermal processing, it is very easy to absorb impurities such as hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon. Also have poor wear resistance, and a complex production process.Our most corrosion-resistant metal screws, titanium screws withstand salt water, acids, and chemicals. They have a high strength-to-weight ratio and are about 40% lighter than steel screws. All meet either ASME B18.3 or ISO 4762 (formerly DIN 912) dimensional specifications. Length is measured from under the head. Coarse threads are the industry standard; choose these screws if you don’t know the threads per inch. Fine threads are closely spaced to prevent loosening from vibration. They are not compatible with coarse threads.

The heat treatment process of titanium alloy:

(1) Stress relief annealing: the purpose is to eliminate or reduce the residual stress generated during processing. Prevents chemical attacks and reduces deformation in some corrosive environments.

(2) Complete annealing: the purpose is to obtain good toughness, improve processing performance, facilitate reprocessing, and improve dimensional and organizational stability.

(3) Solution treatment and aging: The purpose is to improve its strength. α titanium alloy and stable β titanium alloy cannot be subjected to strengthening heat treatment, and only annealing is performed in the production. α+β titanium alloys and metastable β titanium alloys containing a small amount of α phase can be further strengthened by solution treatment and aging.
