Cap nuts are roughly divided into two categories: a GB/T802.1 combination composed of a hex nut and a cap and a GB/T802.2 combination comprising a cap and a nut welded. There is not much difference between the two in appearance, but there is a big difference in performance and use. GB/T802.1 Combination cap nut combines two current situations, and its compressive strength is weak. It is often used in small machinery, electronic equipment, and other environments with low pressure. Its primary function is human body protection and dustproof appearance. GB/T802.2 welded cap nuts have strong pressure resistance and tighter sealing and are primarily used in exposed parts of large machinery to prevent the intrusion of external impurities and water.
1. Cap nuts and stainless steel hexagonal slotted nuts are equipped with cotter pins and bolts with holes to prevent the nuts from loosening and falling off when subjected to vibration and alternating loads.
2. A cap nut with an insert taps out the inner thread by tightening the nut, which can prevent loosening and has good elasticity.
3. The purpose of the cap nut is the same as that of the hexagon nut. Its characteristic is that the central nut is not easy to slip when it is assembled and disassembled with a wrench, but only an adjustable wrench, a dead wrench, a dual-purpose wrench (opening part), or a unique square hole sleeve can be used. Wrench assembly and disassembly. It is mainly used for rough and straightforward parts.
4 Cap nuts can be used when the bolt end threads need to be capped.
5. Cap nuts can be used for tooling.
6. Cap nuts and ring nuts can usually be disassembled by hand instead of using tools and are generally used on occasions that require frequent disassembly and less force.
7. Cap nuts are mainly used for fixing tires and front and rear axles of automobiles, tricycles, electric vehicles, etc., and for setting street lamp bases and mechanical equipment often exposed to sunlight and rain.
8. The cap nut is used in conjunction with the hexagon nut to lock the hexagon nut, and the effect is good. One side of the weld nut welds the thin steel plate with holes, then connects it with the bolt.
9. Cap nuts are suitable for high-strength fasteners, mechanical fasteners, furniture fasteners, vehicle fasteners, special-shaped parts for vehicle processing, special-shaped fasteners for cold heading, U-shaped wires for double-headed feet, and architectural decoration. Fasteners and other types can also be used in basic engineering, automobile and motorcycle accessories, the light industry, machinery, furniture, hardware tools, architectural decoration, etc.
10. The surface of cap nuts generally needs to be treated, including galvanized, nickel-plated, chrome-plated, dacromet, and other surface treatment processes to make it more rust-proof and prolong the service life of fasteners
The application advantages of wing nuts are as follows:
1. Keep the back of the board completely flat;
2. Small and exquisite, suitable for all electronic or precision equipment;
3. High torque resistance;
4. It is easy to equip and only needs simple pressure riveting;
5. Serialization of specifications can meet various design requirements.
Wing nuts have superior performance that others cannot replace, so they are widely used in the medical device industry because they are also made of plastic; plastic is an insulator, and it is environmentally friendly and can prevent interference when used in medical devices. Insulators are also necessary in the electric energy industry because electricity needs to avoid conductors, and plastic wing nuts can do it very well. For example, the aviation industry is all mechanical equipment, as long as it is about mechanical equipment, and is where wing nuts are used. In addition to playing a massive role in mechanical equipment, wing nuts also play a huge role in the electronics, petrochemical, and shipping industries. Because ships are often soaked in water, they have very high acid, alkali, and corrosion resistance requirements. The high and far selection of wing nuts is also because the wing nuts have a long service life. Not only that, but the communication industry also often chooses wing nuts because plastic wing nuts can better isolate magnetic fields. The petrochemical industry needs high-temperature resistance, and wing nuts have this feature, so wing nuts are also used in the petrochemical industry.
Industries for intrinsic reasons, but forced by the high price of titanium alloy materials, the application of titanium alloy has been minimal. The density of titanium alloy is generally around 4.5g/cm3, only 60% of steel, the strength of pure titanium is only close to the strength of ordinary steel, and some high-strength titanium alloy exceeds the strength of many alloy structural steel. Therefore, titanium alloy's specific strength (strength/density) is much greater than other metal structural materials and can be made with unit strength, good rigidity, lightweight parts, and components.
It has good high and low-temperature properties, non-magnetizability, low thermal conductivity, and thermal expansion coefficient. Regarding its negative aspects, titanium fasteners are challenging for the machine. Also, the threads can easily scuff or seize during installation and locking of threaded fasteners. Some examples of titanium alloys are sensitive to stress corrosion at moderately high temperatures. But this situation can be mitigated by some unique processes. Ti-6Al-4V is a heavy-duty alloy with a minimum tensile strength of 135,000 psi, high strength, and good toughness. The tensile strength of Ti-1Al-8V-5Fe is about 200,000 psi. To exaggerate its outstanding strength-to-quality ratio, the fastening force of fasteners made of this alloy is comparable to that of steel fasteners of the same quality with a tensile strength of 350,000 psi. Two other titanium alloys, Ti-6Al-12Zr and Ti-6Al-6V-2Sn, are also sometimes used to manufacture fasteners.
