The material should be spring steel; refer to DIN EN 10132-4; the primary spring steel material is C60, and so on. Stainless steel is usually 1.4122 to maintain the performance of the product.
1. The hardness of elastic retaining rings for holes is as follows:
Specification for not more than 48mm: 470HV-580HV
48mm<d≤200mm : 435HV-530HV
200mm <d1≤300mm : 390HV-470 HV

2. Surface treatment of shaft retaining rings:
The surface of elastic retaining rings for spring steel holes is generally blackened and oiled. Due to the deformation that must occur when the ring is mounted, zinc plating (risk of hydrogen embrittlement) and non-electrolytic zinc flake coatings (flaking of coatings) on the surface are rare, and the selection of shaft retaining rings with plating is not recommended.

Bending test: the retaining ring should not have cracks in the bending part after bending.
Hardness test: refer to the relevant standards.
Elasticity test: Clamp the hole retaining ring with positioning pliers, reduce the outer diameter to 0.99d, and then relax five times in a row. After the test, measure the outer diameter. The outer diameter of the hole retaining ring after the test should be not less than the maximum value of the groove diameter. Sewing gauge check: Put the retaining ring into the sewing gauge. The ring should be able to pass freely.
