High-strength bolts in the automobile frame application solutions

The solutions for applying high-strength bolts in automobile frames mainly include optimizing the installation process, improving the quality of parts, and adopting unique welding processes.

Optimization of the installation process: Reducing the speed of the second stage of the torque gun can effectively suppress the frequency of high-strength bolt failure. This measure reduces the likelihood of high-strength bolt failure by adjusting critical parameters in the installation process, thus improving the stability and safety of the automobile frame.

Improve the quality of parts: The chemical composition, fracture morphology, metallurgical organization, and mechanical properties of high-strength bolts are tested and analyzed to ensure that their quality and performance are in line with the standards, thus ensuring the overall quality and safety of the automotive frame.

- Adoption of unique welding process: In automobile production, some fasteners need to be welded on the car body in advance, such as welded bolts, bearing surface convex welding bolts, etc. The use of unique welding processes such as stud welding can efficiently and cost-effectively weld bolts or columns of metal fusion to the metal surface of the entire cross-section, which not only reduces the openings but also ensures the sealing performance of the automobile body and at the same time meets the installation needs of the entire vehicle subsystems.

Together, these solutions ensure the effective use of high-strength bolts in automotive frames, improving safety and reliability.

Torx Alloy Steel Socket Head Screws: A Torx-Plus drive has more points of contact than a hex drive, allowing you to tighten these screws with less slippage or damage to the recess. With a tensile strength of 180,000 psi, these alloy steel screws are more robust than Grade 8 steel screws. Their black-oxide finish provides mild corrosion resistance in dry environments. They can be used with both Torx-Plus and standard Torx tools (see Torx bits and Torx keys and drivers). Screws meet ASTM A574 specifications and testing requirements for material quality. Length is measured from under the head.

Coarse threads are the industry standard; choose these screws if you don't know the threads per inch. Fine threads are closely spaced to prevent loosening from vibration. They are not compatible with coarse threads.

Left-Hand Threaded Alloy Steel Socket Head Screws: Tighten these screws by turning them to the left; once fastened, they prevent counterclockwise-moving parts from loosening. With a tensile strength of 170,000 psi, these alloy steel screws are more robust than Grade 8 steel screws. Their black-oxide finish provides mild corrosion resistance in dry environments. Length is measured from under the head.

Coarse threads are the industry standard; choose these screws if you don't know the pitch or threads per inch. Fine threads are closely spaced to prevent loosening from vibration. They are not compatible with coarse threads.

Screws that meet ASTM A574 comply with specifications and testing requirements for material quality. Screws that meet ISO 4762 (formerly DIN 912) comply with specifications for dimensional standards.

Serrated-Flange Socket Head Screws: Serrations under the head grip the material's surface for mild vibration resistance, and the flange distributes pressure, eliminating the need for a separate washer. With a tensile strength of 140,000 psi, these alloy steel screws are comparable in strength to Grade 8 steel screws and are more potent than stainless steel screws. Their black-oxide finish provides mild corrosion resistance in dry environments. Head height includes the flange. Length is measured from under the flange.

Alloy Steel Button Head Torx Screws: Made from alloy steel, these screws are three times stronger than standard steel button head Torx screws. A Torx-Plus drive has more points of contact than other drives, allowing you to tighten the screw without damaging the recess. For Torx tools, see Torx and Torx-Plus bits, keys, and drivers. Torx-Plus screws can be used with both Torx-Plus and Torx tools. Length is measured from under the head.

Black-oxide alloy steel screws are mildly corrosion-resistant in dry environments.

Zinc-plated alloy steel screws resist corrosion in wet environments.

Types and advantages of high-strength bolts

High-strength bolts are connectors made of alloy steel materials, which have the following advantages:

1. High strength: The strength of high-strength bolts is much higher than that of ordinary bolts, which can meet the strength requirements of truck frames when traveling and bearing.

2. Corrosion resistance: high-strength bolt surface plating corrosion resistance, not easy to rust, can be used for a long time in harsh environments, extending the service life of the frame.

3. Convenient installation: Installing high-strength bolts does not require complex tools and technology; they can be quickly and easily installed and replaced to improve maintenance efficiency.

At present, there are mainly the following types of high-strength bolts on the market:

1. High-strength hexagonal head bolts, widely used in automotive and machinery manufacturing, with six edges designed to withstand better axial loads and shear forces.

2. High-strength light bar bolts: These bolts have longer threads and six edges, can adapt to different strength requirements, and are widely used in construction and machinery.

3. High-strength flywheel bolts: With an increased diameter and hexagonal head design, they can withstand greater axial load and shear force and are used in high-strength parts such as automobile engines' flywheels and crankshafts.

Application of High-Strength Bolts in Truck Frame

The truck frame is an important part composed of upper and lower beams and connectors. Its structural strength and reliability play a vital role in the truck's safety and longevity. High-strength bolts in the connecting parts provide a better guarantee for the truck frame's safety and maintenance.

1. Connection of truck frame parts: truck frame consists of several small parts, the connection between these parts is subjected to great force in the transportation process, and if ordinary bolts are used, it is easy to loosen, crack and other problems. Using high-strength bolts can ensure the connection's firmness and reliability and improve the frame's service life.

2. Truck frame repair and maintenance: High-strength bolts can be quickly installed and replaced, greatly reducing the difficulty of truck frame maintenance, improving maintenance efficiency, and reducing maintenance costs.

In summary, the application of high-strength bolts in the truck frame is of great significance. The use of high-strength bolts can improve the structural strength and reliability of the frame, extend its service life, and better meet the safety, security, and maintenance needs in the transportation process.
