 The role of flat washers generally have the following points:

1. If the bolts need to be disassembled frequently to protect the surface of the connected parts from being scratched, it is generally necessary to add flat washers to the nut or bolt head position.

2. In some of the friction coefficient requirements for more accurate connections, such as high-strength prestressed bolts are required in the nut end plus flat washers because, in this case, the bolt, nut, and washer are provided by the same manufacturer, the bolt manufacturer needs to nut and washer for the corresponding treatment to ensure that the friction coefficient of the nut and the washer between the consistency of the nut and the washer.

3. 4. On some occasions, to ensure that the bolt holes between the two connectors can be one-to-one correspondence, we need to increase the diameter of the hole; sometimes, to install and adjust the convenience of the bolt hole will be made into a long hole, so that you can adjust the workpiece within a specific range of the installation position, the bolt hole beyond the standard requirements will need to use a flat washer or thickened flat washer, and even more flat washers will be used.

From the above points can be seen, the role of flat washers is mainly to protect the surface of the workpiece as well as to ensure the reliability of the connection, so that the connection can meet the design requirements.

The role of spring washers:

The primary role of the spring washer is to give the nut a force after the nut is tightened to increase the friction between the nut and bolt! That is, to prevent the operation of the equipment vibration caused by the fastening bolt loosening and increase a protective measure. Spring washers to prevent loosening principle is in the spring washer pressure flat; the spring washer will produce a continuous elastic force so that the nut and bolt threaded joints continue to maintain friction, resulting in a resisting torque, thereby preventing the nut from loosening. At the same time, the sharp corners of the openings of the spring washers are embedded in the surfaces of the bolts and the connected parts, respectively, thus preventing the bolts from rotating relative to the corresponding parts.
