Do you know what the differences are between high-strength hexagonal screws and ordinary bolts?

Hexagonal bolts are the most widely used type of bolts. Its A-grade and B-grade bolts are used for essential assembly precision requirements of high and to withstand significant shock, vibration, or alternating load occasions. The C-grade bolts are used in fields where the surface is rough, and the assembly precision is not high. Threads on the bolt - generally for ordinary threads, ordinary thread bolts self-locking is better, mainly used for thin-walled parts or to withstand shock, vibration, or alternating loads. General bolts are made of part of the thread; full-threaded bolts are primarily used for the nominal length of the shorter bolts and longer threads required for the occasion.

In our daily use, if the bolts are made of carbon steel, there are two kinds of bolts.

One is high-strength bolts, and the other is ordinary bolts. If it is stainless steel bolts, there are also two kinds of cases: 304 stainless steel bolts and 316 stainless steel bolts. In these two kinds of difference, stainless steel bolt is easier to understand, because 304 and 316 has made it a clear boundary, these two kinds of stainless steel material is not the same as the generation of bolt products.

But we are purchasing carbon steel bolts; many industrial manufacturing enterprises to carbon steel material production of bolts are called iron screws. This statement is entirely unscientific. From the point of view of the material, there will be high-strength bolts and ordinary bolts, two kinds of claims, then high-strength bolts and ordinary bolts in the end. What is the difference?

Carbon steel materials are divided into high-strength materials and ordinary materials. Carbon steel bolts produced with high-strength materials are known as high-strength bolts; we use 45 steel production of double-headed bolts, such as we use 35 steel material production of hexagonal bolts and hexagonal bolts after the molding process; there will be a heat treatment process; after the completion of the bolts, the level of bolts up to the level of 8.8, although the same carbon steel materials, because of the level of performance improvement, so they call them high-strength bolts. Bolt. The bolts are produced with high-carbon steel materials, also known as material, but because of the improvement of the level of performance, they are called high-strength bolts. The bolts produced with high-carbon steel materials, also known as 35CRMO alloy steel materials, produced by the 12.9-grade bolts, are higher than the 8.8 level, so they should be called high-strength bolts.

So, what is an ordinary bolt? Bolts produced with common carbon steel materials are called ordinary bolts. For example, we use Q235S material raw 4.8 hexagonal bolts, or our A3 steel material production of 4 hexagonal nuts, etc. After the production of these materials, only the surface needs to be cleaned, or zinc plating can be processed. They do not require heat treatment, so they are called ordinary bolts.

From the above, we can find a law: high-strength bolts that have level 8.8 or more mechanical properties and are required for heat-treatment bolts are called high-strength bolts. The 8.8 level, below the bolt or nut, is called an ordinary bolt or ordinary bolt, and it is basically at the 4.8 level, not heat treatment processing.

High-strength steel manufacturing or the need to apply large preload bolts can be called high-strength bolts. These bolts are used in bridges, rails, and high-pressure and ultra-high-pressure equipment connections. Their fracture is mostly brittle. To ensure the sealing of the container, high-strength bolts used in ultra-high-pressure equipment need to apply a large amount of prestressing.

Steel Hex Head Thread-Cutting Screws for Metal: These steel screws are zinc plated to resist corrosion in wet environments. They have a hex head for a secure grip with a wrench and a flange to reduce the risk of crushing thin metal. Screws cut threads in drilled holes as they're turned, so they require less driving torque and cause less stress on your material than thread-forming screws. Length is measured from under the flange. Head height includes the flange.

Screws meet ASME B18.6.3 dimensional standards. They also meet SAE J933 standards for material quality.

Screws with serrations under the head grip the material surface for mild vibration resistance.

Stainless Steel Flanged Piercing Screws for Sheet Metal: Made from 410 stainless steel, these screws are strong, wear-resistant, mildly chemical resistant, and magnetic. They're not for use with aluminum sheet metal. They are also known as needlepoint screws; they are redesigned with a pointed tip to pierce a starter hole in sheets up to 0.050" thick. All have a hex head for a secure grip with a wrench and a flange to reduce the risk of crushing thin metal. Length is measured from under the flange. Head height includes the flange.

18-8 Stainless Steel Flanged Hex Head Screws for Sheet Metal:18-8 stainless steel screws have good chemical resistance and may be mildly magnetic. They have a hex head for a secure grip with a wrench and a flange to reduce the risk of crushing thin metal. Screws penetrate 0.025" and thinner sheet metal. Length is measured from under the flange. Head height includes the flange.

Do you know what the differences are between high-strength hexagonal screws and ordinary bolts?Do you know what the differences are between high-strength hexagonal screws and ordinary bolts?

High-strength bolts quality of use: aircraft manufacturing, large-scale power generation equipment manufacturing structure connection, automobile manufacturing, rail transportation equipment manufacturing, large-scale shipbuilding, medical equipment manufacturing, large-scale complete sets of communications equipment, etc., on behalf of the advanced manufacturing has entered an important direction of development. High-strength bolts are used for critical mechanical connections, and repeated disassembly or installation of various torque methods of high-strength bolts is highly demanding. Therefore, the surface condition and thread accuracy of the good and evil will directly affect the service life and safety of the host. To improve the coefficient of friction and avoid corrosion, biting, or being stuck in the process of use, the technical requirements of its surface should be nickel-phosphorus plating treatment. The thickness of the plating is guaranteed to be within the range of 0.02 ~ 0.03mm, and the plating is uniform, dense, and free of pinholes.

Bolt material: 18Cr2Ni4W, 25Cr2MoV steel; bolt specifications: M27 ~ M48. The carbon steel easily forms a layer of passivation film on the surface. This passivation film will make the bolts unable to get good adhesion to the chemical nickel-phosphorus layer, so special pre-treatment measures must taken. Special pre-treatment measures will be removed from the film first. Measures should be taken to prevent it from generating again and ensure that the plating layer and substrate have a good bonding force after plating. After plating, the coating and the substrate have a good bonding force. At the same time, due to the large geometry of the bolts, the nickel-phosphorus plating treatment and the quality of the process increased the difficulty of testing.
