Fastener solutions in the photovoltaic structural connectivity industry
Fasteners are parts used to connect or secure two or more components and are widely used in various industries. Photovoltaic refers to the technology that directly converts solar energy into electricity.
The photovoltaic industry is a rapidly growing field whose core technology is producing and applying solar panels. Solar panels consist of multiple solar cells, which in turn consist of numerous cells. Fasteners play an essential role in the manufacturing process of solar panels. They secure the cells and the connectors between the cells to ensure that the current can be conducted smoothly between them.
Types of fasteners used in the photovoltaic industry
1. Stainless steel external hexagon, nuts, serrated washers, double stacked washers
As the leading new energy industry in vital global projects, the photovoltaic sector is being implemented in large quantities. Which photovoltaic panels and other applications to a large number of fasteners. Therefore, there is a need for some corrosion-resistant, impact-resistant fastener products. Stainless steel fasteners represent corrosion-resistant fasteners in the photovoltaic industry and have many uses.
Belleville Spring Lock Washers for Socket Head Screws: These washers have smaller outside diameters than standard spring lock washers to fit neatly under socket head cap screws. Also known as conical washers, these have a slightly cupped shape that gives them spring-like flexibility to grip tighter than split and tooth lock washers. They minimize loosening from wear, temperature changes, and vibration. Serrations on the top and bottom provide extra gripping power. Load-rated Belleville disc springs are also available.
Zinc-plated steel washers are corrosion-resistant in wet environments.
18-8 stainless steel washers have good chemical resistance and may be mildly magnetic.
Wedge Lock Washers: These two-piece washers provide more locking power than split, tooth, and spring lock washers. Wedges inside lock the two pieces together, and serrations on the exterior grip surface to resist loosening from high vibration and shifting. Washers are reusable.
Three hundred sixteen stainless steel washers resist chemicals and salt water. They may be mildly magnetic.
Zinc-flake-coated steel washers are corrosion-resistant in wet environments. Three hundred sixteen stainless steel and zinc-flake-coated steel washers are comparable to Series.
Black zinc-flake-coated steel washers are comparable to Series washers.
Spring lock washers are comparable to Series washers. They withstand vibration better than standard wedge lock washers by combining the locking power of a wedge lock with the clamping force of a spring lock.
2. Various types of combination screws and pattern screws
In some applications, screws for installation there are anti-loosening locking needs; you can use screws and lock washers in the form of a combination. A combination of washers can include spring, flat, and toothlock washers. Screws, when used, have been pre-combined, economical, and practical to improve installation efficiency, reduce the difficulty of commodity material management, and play a role in reducing costs and increasing efficiency. Cross-recessed small pan head screws and spring washers, flat washers combination parts-304, cross recessed pan head with flat spring washers combination .screws-304, ISO7380 hexagon socket round head screws-304 stainless steel, DIN912 spring washers combination screws (knurled) 304.
18-8 Stainless Steel Pan Head Phillips Screws:18-8 stainless steel pan head screws have good chemical resistance and may be mildly magnetic. Length is measured from under the head. For partially threaded screws, thread length may vary from the minimum thread length published to fully threaded.
Passivated stainless steel screws provide added protection against oxidation and corrosion.
Chrome-plated stainless steel screws have a decorative, mirror-like finish.
PTFE-coated stainless steel screws won't stick or bind as you thread them into a hole.
Black-oxide stainless steel screws have a matte-black finish.
Fine-Thread Metric 316 Stainless Steel Button Head Hex Drive Screws: Closely spaced threads on these screws fit in holes with a fine pitch. They're not compatible with standard metric threads. Made from 316 stainless steel, they are more corrosion-resistant to chemicals and salt water than 18-8 stainless steel screws. Screws may be mildly magnetic. Length is measured from under the head.
Pan Head Screws with Flat and Split Lock Washer: The flat washer distributes holding pressure and protects delicate surfaces from damage, while the split lock washer adds tension to prevent loosening from small amounts of vibration. Also known as Sems screws, the washers rotate freely but are permanently attached. They're made from 18-8 stainless steel and have good chemical resistance. Screws may be mildly magnetic. All are passivated for added protection against oxidation and corrosion. Length is measured from under the head.
Metric Steel Pan Head Screws with Split Lock Washer: When compressed, the split lock washer flattens to add tension and prevent loosening from small amounts of vibration. Also known as Sems screws, the washer rotates freely but is permanently attached. A zinc plating provides corrosion resistance in wet environments. Length is measured from under the head.
3. T-slot bolts
T-bolt can be directly into the aluminum profile groove; in the installation process, it can automatically locate the lock, often used in conjunction with the flange nut, which is the installation of corner pieces of the standard supporting connectors, according to the profile groove width and different series of profiles to choose to use.
T-Bolts: Also known as tank-strap bolts, these T-bolts are commonly used with a band clamp or a strap to hold fuel tanks and other objects in place. The sizeable T-shaped head provides a secure grip for steady tightening.
Steel—Steel T-bolts without a finish are ready to be painted or finished.
Black-Oxide Steel—Black-oxide steel T-bolts are mildly corrosion-resistant in dry environments.
Zinc-Plated Steel—Zinc-plated steel T-bolts resist corrosion in wet environments.
Coarse Thread—Coarse threads are the industry standard; choose these screws if you don't know the threads per inch.
Fine Thread—Fine threads are closely spaced to prevent loosening from vibration.
Length—Length is measured from the top of the head.
Thread Spacing—Match the thread spacing of mating components.
T-Slot Bolts: For quicker setups than a separate T-slot nut and stud, slide these bolts into T-slot tracks on machine tool tables.
Stainless steel bolts have excellent corrosion resistance.
T-Slot Nuts: Designed to slide into T-slot tracks on machine tool tables, these nuts are used to secure clamps and workpieces.
Fully threaded nuts allow a stud to extend beyond the bottom of the nut. Partially threaded nuts keep studs from traveling past the bottom of the nut and damaging your table.
Stainless steel nuts are highly resistant to corrosion. They are a good choice for use with stainless steel parts or in EDM applications.
4. Photovoltaic mounting bracket fastening solutions-plum groove screws
Due to the limitation of installation space, the silicon crystal panel fixing bracket needs to choose the connection form with high strength, small volume, and high preload, which can be used firstly with hexagon socket set screws. The performance of this screw meets the requirements of A2-70, the head size has been precisely designed to withstand an ample installation torque, and at the same time can be installed in the aluminum profile slot. It saves installation space, reduces overall equipment weight, and optimizes structural design.
18-8 Stainless Steel Button Head Torx Screws: Made from 18-8 stainless steel, these screws have good chemical resistance and may be mildly magnetic. All are passivated for added protection against oxidation and corrosion. Torx and Torx-Plus drives have more points of contact than other drives, allowing you to tighten the screw without damaging the recess. For Torx tools, see Torx and Torx-Plus bits, keys, and drivers. Torx-Plus screws can be used with both Torx-Plus and Torx tools. Length is measured from under the head.
High-Strength A286 Stainless Steel Button Head Torx Screws: A286 stainless steel screws have comparable strength to alloy steel with the corrosion and chemical resistance of 18-8 stainless steel.
