Material: Stainless steel SUS304, SUS316
Product Specification
18-8 stainless steel pan head screws have good chemical resistance and may be mildly magnetic. All are passivated for added protection against oxidation and corrosion. Length is measured from under the head.Stainless Steel Materials in Medical Device Applications:
Medical-grade stainless steel is an iron-based corrosion-resistant alloy and one of the earliest developed biomedical materials. It is characterized by its ease of processing, affordability, corrosion resistance, and the ability to increase yield strength through cold working, thus avoiding fatigue fractures. Among them, the most widely used is austenitic ultra-low carbon stainless steel 316L.
1. Stainless steel materials are extensively used in the production of medical device components due to their strength, durability, and corrosion resistance. Some common applications of stainless steel components in medical devices include:
2. Surgical instruments: Stainless steel is commonly used in the manufacturing of surgical instruments such as scalpels, forceps, and clamps due to its high strength, corrosion resistance, and ability to maintain sharp edges.
3. Orthopedic implants: Stainless steel is often used in the production of orthopedic implants, such as spinal screws, due to its strength and corrosion resistance.
4. Medical equipment: Stainless steel is used to manufacture various medical equipment, such as hospital beds, wheelchairs, and examination tables, due to its durability and corrosion resistance.
5. Dental implants: Stainless steel is used in the production of dental implants due to its strength, biocompatibility, and corrosion resistance. Stainless steel plays a crucial role in the production of medical instruments and their components, providing the strength, durability, and corrosion resistance required for reliable and safe operation in demanding medical environments.
Good for use outdoors and in washdown environments, these metric 18-8 stainless steel screws are more corrosion-resistant than steel and nearly as strong. Their pan-shaped head sits nearly flat on the fastened surface, so there’s no need to countersink a hole. With domed or chamfered edges, the head of these screws won’t snag clothing when you brush against it. Length is measured from under the head. Standard-head screws are better for applications with tight spaces than wide-head screws. They meet ISO 1580 (formerly DIN 85), which are dimensional and material standards recognized globally. Wide-head screws evenly distribute clamping force and eliminate the need for a washer. Use them when fastening material through a hole that’s wider than the diameter of the screw—the wide head bridges the gap. They’re also good for securing thin materials that tend to shift since the wide head holds more of the material in place. However, it also means these screws won’t work in areas where space is limited. All meet DIN 921 for dimensional and material standards. Passivated screws have extra protection against oxidation and corrosion.
