Product Specification

Mild steel has a lower carbon content than other carbon steels. Mild steel has a carbon content of just 0.25%.


Mild steels have good impact strength, good ductility and weldability, and the possibility of cold forming. With these properties, it is easier to CNC machine mild steel than other types of steel.


The main disadvantage of mild steel is its relatively low tensile strength, which means it breaks more easily than other types of steel. The tensile strength can be increased using a heat treatment process called carburizing. Carburizing is the case hardening process of heating low-carbon steel to a certain temperature and then cooling the steel to harden the steel on the surface while keeping the steel core soft and ductile.


The electroplated nickel layer has high stability in the air, extremely fine crystals, and excellent polishing performance. The relatively high hardness of the coating can improve the wear resistance of the product surface. It is widely used in optical instrument coating, protective decorative coating, casting Crystallizer electronic components, etc.


Electroless nickel plating: good thickness uniformity, no hydrogen penetration, no hydrogen embrittlement, and no need to remove hydrogen after electroless nickel plating. Many electroless nickel plating products have better corrosion resistance and high-temperature oxidation resistance than electroplating nickel and can be deposited on the surface of various materials without the need for DC motors or control equipment required by general electroplating. The heat treatment temperature is as low as 400 ° C. After the holding time, different corrosion resistance and wear resistance can be obtained. Therefore, it is especially suitable for functional coatings of components with complex shapes and surface requirements for wear and corrosion resistance.


Types of nickel plating solution: mainly sulfate type, chloride type, sulfamate type, citrate type, fluoroborate type, etc. Among them, the sulfate type (low chloride) is called the Watts (Watts) nickel plating solution, which is most commonly used in industry. The sulfamate type and fluoroborate type are suitable for thick nickel plating or electroforming. The citrate type is suitable for direct nickel plating on zinc die castings. The cost of these plating solutions is relatively high. Other nickel plating types include normal nickel (dark plating), bright nickel, sulfamate nickel, high sulfur nickel, nickel seal, satin nickel, high-stress nickel, multilayer nickel, citrate nickel, etc.
