install these inserts into plastic parts to create a secure base for fasteners. Also known as Chevron and headed inserts, they are often used to strengthen mounting holes on brittle plastics, such as on 3D-printed parts. Unlike plastic threads, which wear down with repeated use, these threads hold their shape over a long life. Press inserts into square holes that have been drilled, printed, or molded into plastic parts, then heat them with a soldering tip to melt the surrounding plastic. As the plastic cools, it fuses to the sharp, diagonal ridges around the inserts, which withstand torque and prevent the inserts from being pulled out. The interior is fully threaded, so you can access the threads from both sides of a through-hole.

1. Flanged inserts have a wider end than standard inserts, which gives them a larger load-bearing surface and makes them harder to pull out. The flange also gives you a larger contact area for soldering. When threading into the flanged side, these inserts prevent over-tightening, which can cause brittle plastic to crack.

2. Made with lead, brass inserts are stronger than aluminum and other brass alloys but not as strong as stainless steel inserts. They have good corrosion resistance.

3. Aluminum inserts are 70% lighter than brass and stainless steel inserts, have good corrosion resistance, and are lead-free. Since they’re lead-free, they can be safely recycled.

4. Stainless steel inserts are stronger than brass and aluminum inserts, have excellent corrosion resistance, and are lead-free. Since they’re lead-free, they can be safely recycled.

Name: Tapered Heat-Set Inserts for Plastic

Material: Stainless steel.Steel, Brass

Size: 2-56, 4-40, 6-32, 8-32, 10-24, 10-32, 1/4-20", 5/16-18", 3/8-16, 1/2-13"

The tapered shape makes it easier to guide these inserts into a hole during installation. Use a drill bit to create a square hole, then taper the top half. Heat inserts with a soldering tip so that they melt the plastic when installed. As the plastic cools, it solidifies around the knurls and ridges on the insert for excellent resistance to both torque and pull-out. Made with lead, brass inserts are stronger than aluminum and other brass alloys but not as strong as 303 stainless steel inserts. They have good corrosion resistance. Aluminum inserts are 70% lighter than brass and stainless steel inserts, have good corrosion resistance and are lead-free. Since they’re lead-free, they can be safely recycled.303 stainless steel inserts are stronger than brass and aluminum inserts, have excellent corrosion resistance and are lead-free. Since they’re lead-free, they can be safely recycled.

Inserts that meet ASTM standards comply with specifications for material quality.Stainless Steel Plastic Insert Round Nuts, These nuts are made of stainless steel material and are embedded in plastic parts using mold injection, forming internal threads. While most plastic insert nuts use copper as the preferred material, there are still some applications that utilize stainless steel as the plastic insert option. These include:

1. Rust-resistant working environments: Stainless steel grades SUS303 or 316F offer better rust resistance compared to brass.

2. Higher hardness and wear resistance: Stainless steel grades SUS303 and 316F exhibit higher hardness and wear resistance compared to brass.

3.Materials used: Stainless steel grades SUS303, SUS304, SUS303Cu, and SUS316F, which are easy to machine.

4. Manufacturing process: The nuts are machined in one step using automatic lathes with left and right-slanting knurling wheels.

5. Applications: The nuts can be heated and melted into pre-drilled holes in plastic or directly pressed into pre-drilled holes in plastic parts. They can also be inserted into plastic parts using mold injection.

6. Various specifications of stainless steel straight knurled insert nuts can be produced according to customer requirements. The specifications range from M2 to M16.
