S25C is low-carbon steel whose main components are carbon, manganese, sulfur, and phosphorus. It has a low carbon content of 0.22% to 0.28%, which makes it good machinability, weldability, and heat treatability. The following are the characteristics of S25C:

1. Good machinability: Since S25C steel has low carbon content, it has low hardness and is easy to machine and forged. At the same time, S25C steel has a smooth surface and less cracking, so it is suitable for manufacturing thinner plates and small parts, etc.

2. Good weldability: S25C steel has good weldability and can be processed by different welding methods such as resistance welding and argon arc welding, and the surface quality of welded joints is good, and the welded joints have high strength, good toughness, and are not easy to fracture.

3. Good heat treatment performance: S25C steel can be subjected to a variety of heat treatments, such as normalizing, homogenizing treatment, quenching, tempering, and other heat treatment processes to achieve the purpose of increasing hardness and strength, improving toughness and plasticity. For example, after taking normalizing treatment, the comprehensive performance of S25C steel will be further improved, and the strength and hardness will be increased.
