Copper chromium plating is a layer of chromium plated on the surface of copper products. The chrome plating layer has high hardness, depending on the composition of the plating solution and process conditions, its hardness can vary in a wide range of 400 ~ 1200 HV. The chromium plating layer has good heat resistance, and its gloss and hardness do not change significantly when heated below 500°C. The temperature is greater than 500°C and starts to oxidize and discolor, and the hardness starts to decrease above 700°C. The friction coefficient of the chrome-plated layer is small, especially the dry friction coefficient, which is the lowest among all the metals.

Hard chrome plating, opal chrome plating, loose hole chrome plating, and black chrome plating are mainly used in industry to improve the hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, etc. of mechanical parts. Chrome plating is commonly used for the protection and decoration of parts of automobiles, bicycles, sewing machines, clocks and watches, instruments and meters, lamps and lanterns, daily-use hardware, etc.

The picture on the left shows a turned copper core for valves, made of C3604 fast-cutting steel brass, custom-made copper turned parts for valve stems and cores according to customer requirements.
