Washer refers to the part between the connected part and the nut. It is generally a flat metal ring, which is used to protect the surface of the connected part from being scratched by the nut and to disperse the pressure of the nut on the connected part.

Flat washers are generally used in connecting parts, one is soft and the other is hard and brittle. Its main function is to increase the contact area, disperse the pressure, and prevent the soft texture from being crushed. The basic function of the spring washer is to give force to the nut after the nut is tightened to increase the friction between the nut and the bolt! The material is 65Mn (spring steel), the heat treatment hardness is HRC44～51HRC, and the surface is oxidized.

The characteristics that stainless steel gaskets should have:

1. Air tightness: For the medium of the sealing system, the gasket will not leak for a certain period under the recommended temperature and pressure.

2. Compressibility: After the connecting bolts are tightened, the contact surface between the gasket and the flange should fit well to ensure the seal.

3. Creep resistance: under the influence of pressure load and service temperature, the gasket should have good creep resistance, otherwise it will cause the loss of bolt torque, resulting in the decrease of the surface stress of the gasket, and thus the leakage of the hard gas system.

4. Anti-chemical corrosion: The selected gasket should not be corroded by chemical media, and should not contaminate the media.

5. Resilience: Even when the system is stable, the two connected flanges will have a small displacement due to the influence of temperature and pressure. The elastic function of the gasket should be able to compensate for this displacement to ensure the tightness of the system.

6. Anti-adhesion: The gasket should be easily removed from the flange after use without adhesion.

7. Non-corrosive: The gasket should be non-corrosive on the flange surface to be connected.

8. Temperature resistance: The selected gasket should be guaranteed to be used normally at the lowest and highest temperature of the system.
