Requirements for Welding Stainless Steel Parts: Due to the varying sizes of stainless steel parts and the unique characteristics of stainless steel welding, the aim is to minimize heat input. Therefore, two methods are commonly used: manual arc welding and argon arc welding. For parts with a diameter (d) larger than Φ159 mm, argon arc welding is used as the foundation, followed by manual arc welding for the cover. For parts with a diameter (d) equal to or smaller than Φ159 mm, argon arc welding is used throughout.

The welding requirements for stainless steel parts are as follows: 

1. For manual arc welding, direct current reverse polarity is used, while for argon arc welding, direct current straight polarity is used.

2. Before welding, the surface oxide layer should be removed by brushing the welding wire with a stainless steel wire brush, followed by cleaning with acetone. The welding rod should be dried at 200-250℃ for 1 hour and used immediately.

3. Before welding, clean the oil and other contaminants within a 25 mm range on both sides of the groove, and clean the 25 mm range on both sides of the groove with acetone.

4. a nozzle with a diameter of Φ2 mm is used for argon arc welding, and a bowl-shaped tungsten electrode with a specification of Φ2.5 mm is used.

5. When welding stainless steel with argon arc welding, the backside must be shielded with argon gas to ensure proper formation. Partial argon gas filling inside the pipe is employed, with a flow rate of 5-14 L/min, while the front side requires an argon gas flow rate of 12-13 L/min.These guidelines ensure proper welding of stainless steel parts, minimizing heat input and maintaining the integrity of the welds.
