Aluminum Fastener - Aluminum Rivet
1. In the aerospace industry, aluminum rivets are widely used. Many forms of riveted connections can be seen on the aircraft fuselage. Additionally, aluminum rivets can also be found in the manufacturing of doors, windows, and equipment shells in daily furniture and decorative applications.
2. Rivets are fasteners used to join two pre-drilled structural components together. There are various types of rivets, including solid rivets, semi-hollow rivets, hollow rivets, tubular rivets, blind rivets, sign rivets, pull-through rivets, and more. Materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, copper alloy, and aluminum alloy can be chosen. Among them, commonly used aluminum alloys include 5056, 5050, 5B05, and others. Depending on the installation environment and space, there is also a wide variety of head types, including round head, flat countersunk head, protruding head, semi-protruding head, flat head, and others. Since riveting is achieved by deforming the rivet itself to create a tight fit, the connection provides excellent anti-vibration and anti-loosening properties compared to threaded connections. However, it has a clear disadvantage of not being able to be disassembled and reused multiple times like threaded connections. Therefore, it is not suitable for connections in areas that require frequent opening and closing, such as equipment maintenance access points.
3. Due to the relatively soft characteristics of aluminum, solid rivets are often manufactured using aluminum or aluminum alloys, as they exhibit good compressive and tensile properties at room temperature. Solid aluminum rivets can be directly riveted at room temperature without the need for preheating and softening like steel rivets. They are commonly used for non-structural components or connections with smaller loads. Solid rivets find wide applications in tools, stationery, accounting books, locks, helmets, automotive hardware, luggage and bags, strollers, clutch steel plates for automobiles, motorcycle accessories, household appliances, and more.
