The hexagonal copper column is also called a yin-yang screw, copper column, and so on. It is a kind of screw with internal thread at one end and external thread at the other end, mostly using copper metal as the direct raw material, Yin Yang screw also contains screws with internal thread at both ends. Most of them are hexagonal in appearance, and they play the role of fastening and isolation because they are generally produced by using hexagonal copper rods as the raw material. Also known as a copper column, hexagonal copper column, copper isolation column, or copper spacer column.


The hexagonal copper column is mainly used in computers, circuit boards, and other industries, when one end is screwed into the locked object, the hexagonal column is exposed outside, and can be fixed or isolated from other objects. The female and male screws are assembled on the computer mainframe, the male thread connects the mainboard inside the mainframe, the female thread isolates the mainboard and the sheet metal shell, and the terminal line to be connected is connected with a screw from the sheet metal shell and the female thread of the female and male copper column.


Hexagonal copper columns commonly used specifications are M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, etc., the hexagonal column were 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15mm, etc., which should be more or M3 series. In addition to copper, there are also stainless steel, fast-cutting steel, and other materials.

18-8 stainless steel standoffs have good corrosion resistance and may be mildly magnetic.

316 stainless steel standoffs have excellent corrosion resistance and are passivated for enhanced protection. They may be mildly magnetic.

Zinc-plated steel standoffs provide some corrosion resistance.

Aluminum standoffs are lightweight, nonmagnetic, and mildly corrosion-resistant. Material can vary between 6061 and 2011 aluminum.

Zinc-plated brass standoffs are electrically conductive, nonmagnetic, and have a corrosion-resistant finish.

Nylon standoffs have excellent wear and abrasion resistance and also offer resistance to chemicals and solvents (except mineral acids). Exposure to moisture may cause them to expand.
