we provide automotive machining services with an eye for precision. We specialize in producing high-quality components for a variety of applications in the automotive sector. We have been producing components for the automotive sector for over 19 years, during which time we have developed our processes to accommodate the latest technology and techniques. We utilize high-speed milling and turning to produce the parts you need on a timescale to suit you. Each component we produce is inspected using CMM to ensure we deliver exactly to specification with every order.


Technical requirements:

3. The surface is galvanized with nickel alloy for 720 hours of neutral salt spray test, in line with ROHS standards, and the unmarked angle is R0.3


#45 Steel is commonly used in mechanical design. It belongs to medium carbon steel, also known as high-quality carbon structural steel. Medium carbon steel is carbon steel with a carbon content ranging from 0.25% to 0.65%. Carbon steel with a carbon content below 0.25% is called low-carbon steel. #45 Steel also contains various elements such as Si and Mn. It has a tensile strength of ≥600 MPa and a yield strength of ≥355 MPa. Additionally, #45 Steel has a certain hardness, making its machining performance moderate. Usually, we use #45 Steel as a benchmark to judge the machining performance of other materials. It is worth mentioning that Q235 Steel is easier to machine than #45 Steel.


1. Due to its relatively high carbon content, #45 Steel has poorer welding performance. Q235 Steel has a lower carbon content than #45 Steel, resulting in better welding performance. Therefore, many welding components in factories are made of Q235 material. We have experienced fractures when welding load-bearing parts with #45 Steel, so we no longer use #45 Steel for welding such components.


2. Untreated #45 Steel has a hardness below HRC28 (its own hardness). It is not wear-resistant but can be used as ordinary structural parts. To maximize its potential, #45 Steel needs to undergo quenching and tempering. After quenching and tempering, #45 Steel's various properties will be improved, especially in terms of strength.


3.#45 Steel is usually not subjected to normalizing or annealing treatments. The most common heat treatment methods for #45 Steel are quenching and tempering, with quenching primarily applied to the surface. When making shaft parts from #45 Steel, it is usually fully quenched, such as the motor shafts that undergo full quenching treatment. For #45 Steel quenching and tempering, if the tempering temperature is controlled between 500-600°C, its hardness range is HRC22 to HRC33. After surface quenching, the hardness of #45 Steel can reach around HRC55, which is similar to the hardness of mold steel.


4. To increase the surface hardness, #45 Steel can be chrome-plated. After hard chrome plating, the surface hardness can reach HRC52-60. For example, the piston rods of some hydraulic cylinders are treated with hard chrome plating.


5. #45 Steel itself is not rust-resistant, so if no surface treatment is applied, it is prone to rusting. In factories, #45 Steel is generally subjected to surface treatments such as blackening, coating, or painting to prevent rust. However, painted parts are prone to surface scratching.
